Nenita is a proven and driven engineering leader with over 12 years of hands-on technical leadership, architecture, design and development experience in varied environments including startups, pre-IPO, Fortune 100 and CMMI level 5 companies.
Most recently, Nenita was part of LendingClub's pre-IPO tech team where she architected and led the successful execution from the ground up of the next generation loan servicing, payment and billing platforms of the company. This enabled LendingClub to productize and expand loan offerings into all types of consumer and small business loans, a mammoth financial opportunity previously untapped under the original platform. In this hands-on role, she established best practices, solid architecture, and coding standards and quality--all designed to engineer for the long run. She also mentored engineers, acted as a liaison between product and engineering, helped manage the project and assisted in various recruitment events to bring in top talent.
Before that, Nenita held a hands-on technical leadership role at Netpulse, a fitness tech startup, where she was responsible for the architecture and development of the SaaS platform that powers the white labeled sites, branded mobile apps and fitness machines for the top US gyms. She also served on progressive engineering leadership roles at Viacom, MTV and Nickelodeon, where she re-architectured and rebuilt addictinggames.com, a multi-million dollar Nickelodeon asset and one of the largest, free online gaming websites in the US.
Prior to Rakuten's acquisition of Ebates.com, she was responsible for rebuilding the core platforms of said company including payment, order and rebate systems to ensure scalability and reliability. Nenita worked for Citibank, Aetna and a French startup early in her career.
Nenita holds a Computer Science degree from a Philippine university where she was an academic scholar. She has native fluency in English and Tagalog and holds elementary level proficiency in Spanish--enough to allow her to eat tapas and shop in Barcelona while conversing in broken Spanish. She's an epicurean (favorite indulgence is Pierre Herme's Plaisir Sucre) who is madly in love with travel and fashion. Her truly humble journey from the Philippines all the way to the heart of Silicon Valley is the quintessential American dream fulfilled. You can catch a glimpse of her passion for life on her blog where she writes about travel, fashion and heartfelt essays.
